We are thrilled to bring this resource in collaboration with some of our favorite community partners: Botanica and Sedgwick County Zoo! To make planning easy, we are excited to highlight their April events below:
Botanica
Tulips, Fairies & Forts
April 7, April 14, April 21, 10:00 – 2:00pm, General Admission and $3 for members. Tulips, Fairies & Forts is back again this year with games, activities, crafts and, of course…60,000 tulips! Come explore our gardens and visit with our different special guests each Saturday. See website for more details!
Fairy Tea Party
April 7, 10:00am-12:00pm or 11:30am-1:30pm. This tea party and ballet performance features Ballet Wichita. Each child received his or her own fairy wings. After tea, sandwiches and treats, the children will have several craft stations to explore. $35 for children and $10 for adults.

Sedgwick County Zoo
Party for the Planet
April 19, 9:00am-2:00pm. Hands-on activities and interactive exhibits present many learning opportunities for children to celebrate Earth Day. This environmental fair gives everyone the opportunity to learn how to protect and care or the world we live in.
Beastly Beers, Craft Edition
April 28, 6:00pm-8:00pm Walk part of the zoo while enjoying fine food and craft beer and live music. Tickets are $35 for members and $40 for non-members. (21 and over only)

Apr 19: Party for the Planet at the Zoo – learn conservationism and celebrate Earth Day.

Apr 20: Schedule a Date Night for Drunk History at the Museum of World Treasures.
Apr 21: New and expecting moms won’t want to miss out on WMB’s Bloom. (sold out)
Apr 21-22: Dress up and head to the 15th Annual Spring Renaissance Festival.
Apr 21: Be prepared with this Weather Safety Class.

Apr 28: Explore every vehicle imaginable and take pictures with your favorite characters at Touch a Truck, Save a Life.
Apr 28: Enjoy a glass or three of wines from around the world at Midwest Winefest.
Apr 28: Take a short trip to Winfield for the HRC Potluck of Diversity.

WMB Neighborhood Group Meet-Ups
Wichita Neighborhood Mom Groups are having all kids of activities in your neighborhood and connecting online to share recommendations and advice. Click here to join your Neighborhood Group, and see below for what’s going on near you this month.
The Derby/South Wichita Group is planning a meetup at the zoo on April 14 and a Moms’ Night Out on April 25.
Support local and enjoy a donut with the Central/Downtown Group on April 16.
The West Side/Goddard/Maize Group will be enjoying some chocolate and wine at Moms’ Night Out.
North Wichita/Bel Aire Group will be playing at the park on April 21.
Regularly Scheduled Programming
Many local places have recurring events that are great for moms and families, and you can find them here:
- Aviate has Junior Jump Monday through Friday for the younger crowd.
- Botanica has a Garden Storytime every Thursday morning, in the Children’s Library or weather permitting in the gardens.
- Sensory Friendly play at Exploration Place on the second Sunday of every month
- Urban Air has Jumparoo Toddler Jump every Tuesday and Friday.
- Home Depot has a free Kids’ DIY workshop on the first Saturday of every month.
- Family Night at Museum of World Treasures is the first Thursday of the month.
- Every Friday the Kansas Aviation Museum has a special ticket price for families.
- Make ICT has free access to their makerspace every other Monday.
- Celebrate Science Friday at Blue Baboon Books with a craft and non-fiction story.
- Kansas Children’s Service League has a support group for Parents of Special Needs Children on the third Monday of every month.
- Moxi Junction hosts story and craft time every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:30am.
