It’s that time of year when the popular fall staple known as the Pumpkin Spice Latte returns. Whether you love it or hate it, pumpkin spice everything is back on the menu in coffee shops around Wichita! Here are 6 places to find a pumpkin spice coffee in Wichita..and a few extras like my favorite El Dorado coffee shop and a recipe to make your own Pumpkin Spice Latte at home.
The Pumpkin Spice Latte has been one of Starbucks’ most popular drinks since it launched in 2003. Other seasonal favorites like the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino, pumpkin scones and pumpkin cream cheese muffins are available at many of the Wichita locations.
Specializing in espresso and other coffee drinks, Reverie Roasters offers pumpkin spice coffee and pumpkin bakery items at their 2611 E Douglas Ave location. Their Pumpkin Spice Latte is made with real pumpkin puree! If pumpkin spice isn’t your thing, try the delicious Maple Spice Latte. The open, inviting interior is the perfect setting to enjoy a pumpkin scone or muffin along with your drink.
Swing by the convenient, mom-friendly drive-thru window for a pumpkin spice coffee or pumpkin chai (try adding espresso to the pumpkin chai, too!) Coffee, espresso, breakfast and lunch items are available at this east-side favorite, located at 6422 Central Ave.
Located at 430 E Douglas, Mead’s Corner is unique in the fact that profits help support Wichitans and people across the world. Their seasonal drinks include Chumpkin Pie coffee made with chai, vanilla and pumpkin spice topped with cinnamon and nutmeg, and a Pumpkin Hot Cocoa made with white chocolate, dark chocolate and pumpkin. Grab a pumpkin cookie or pumpkin gelato while you’re there! This volunteer-driven coffeehouse offers sandwiches, salads, pastries and a wide variety of drinks, in addition to fulfilling all your PSL needs.
You can find pumpkin spice coffee at Twisted Java beginning Sep 1st. Seasonal favorites like White Fall, Snickerdoodle, Pumpkin Pie Latte and other fall favorites are also available at this cozy west-side spot (2615 W 13th St N). There are lots of other specialty drinks, pastries and bierocks (my favorite!) on the menu, as well. Don’t forget to ask for their pumpkin whipped cream on your drink!
This unique coffeehouse in the heart of El Dorado at 142 N Main is one of my favorites and completely worth the drive from Wichita. A pumpkin spice coffee is just one of many menu items, including hot or iced drinks, blended drinks and breakfast and lunch foods. There is also a deli located within the coffeehouse (don’t miss the Yoder Cinnamon rolls!). Local musicians, insanely delicious cupcakes every Wednesday and daily Barista Specials add to the charm.
Make Your Own
If you want to try making your own Pumpkin Spice Latte at home, this recipe can be made in a crockpot (hallelujah!) and serves 10-15. Fun to make for a group like bunco or dinner club. It’s easy and your house will smell so good!
