KS Dept of Ed is delaying implementation of the State Dyslexia Recommendations for screening accepted in November 2019. Kansas students will now wait even longer to get what science & The National Reading Panel shows works for literacy instruction for ALL students. If you have a child who is struggling to read, contact Fundamental Learning Center for a full assessment for dyslexia and other reading difficulties. It is an assessment that is more than a screening and more than a few minutes long. Our Dyslexia assessments are for children ages 5-18, last two hours and include evaluations of verbal, phonological, alphabet, reading, writing and spelling skills. We let you know why your child is struggling to learn and what the next steps can be to help. Contact Michelle at 316-440-1388 or by email at [email protected] to schedule your assessment today.

Kumon is a structured, supplemental math and reading program which guides students from counting to calculus in the Math program and from learning letter sounds to reading high school-level literary text in the Reading program. Through individualized instruction, carefully planned by the instructor, students progress step-by-logical step through the program to build a solid grasp of math and reading while also building critical thinking skills and the mindset to learn new materials independently. Students complete daily assignments that take about 30-minutes per subject in two sessions per week at the Center and the other five days at home. Each worksheet teaches a lesson that’s one small step more advanced than the lesson before so students progress smoothly and gain confidence with each new success.

Our classes include boys and girls recreational gymnastics, tumbling, and ninja warrior for ages 6 & up, preschool for ages 1.5 to 5, urban gymnastics for ages 16 & up. Everything we do, from HappyFeet classes and birthday parties to Legends skill sessions and games, is designed to teach and encourage our players to take a risk, try a new skill—and when they do, we celebrate it as if that risk or attempted skill was in fact winning the game! It is our mission to build into our coaches, parents, and players the understanding that the process—practicing, attempting new skills, developing mental and physical coordination—is the win, not simply the means to a win.
So try one of our HappyFeet or Legends programs. Don’t come expecting white painted lines or even players standing in lines. Come expecting organized chaos on the field where your child will have a blast while getting hundreds of touches on a soccer ball. Expect a coach that knows how to teach and encourage your child to take a risk and try a new move or shot. And remember when your little soccer star takes that risk—that’s your cue to throw your hands in the air and celebrate like crazy!
When they are not in the saddle, campers will learn how to care for horses and will engage in hands on activities to help them learn in a safe environment! Campers will leave their week long camp equipped with basic horse care and horsemanship knowledge with a new found sense of pride and confidence after spending their week learning how to safely and correctly ride our magnificent horses.
