Costco Must-Haves: A Real Mom’s Weekly Shopping List

Thank you to Costco for sponsoring this post and this national event for moms. All thoughts and love shared for Costco are genuine!

After my first shopping experience at last year’s Costco Mom Hour, I immediately hopped on the moms-love-Costco bandwagon. Because, truly, what is there not to love? Though a bit overwhelming at first, and after realizing the hard way that I probably shouldn’t buy everything in the store – I’ve finally gotten into my Costco groove and head straight to my go-to weekly items.

Below are some Costco favorites that you’ll find on my weekly shopping list.

Costco Must Haves

Costco Weekly Must-Haves:

Breakfast:

Kirkland Signature (KS) frozen berries and Greek yogurt. We love this stuff. In the summer, we use this combo for smoothies, and when it gets a bit chillier, we love a simple yogurt parfait for breakfast. Our girls are nuts about it!

Pantry Staples:

KS organic peanut butter (monthly purchase). This is absolutely my go-to staple from Costco. We love the organic peanut butter because it comes with two 28 oz. jars and lasts our family a good month. This is saying a lot since we eat peanut butter on just about everything. Tip: keep it in the refrigerator after opening so the oils don’t float to the top.

Snacks:

KS organic applesauce, animal crackers, and tortilla chips. I don’t think we would make it through the week without those applesauce pouches – they’re the perfect quick and easy, on-the-go snack. We also love the tortilla chip strips with the single portion guacamole cups – one of our favorite weekly snacks! And what kiddo doesn’t love animal crackers? (But the KS ones are delicious!!)

Organic Meat:Costco Must Haves Beef

KS chicken, beef, and tilapia. Our family is a big fan of healthy, easy dinner ideas, and we rotate these purchases each week. We love a good chicken in the crock pot (bonus: these come in double packages so we cook one and freeze the other), or the ground beef for taco night, or the tilapia with a side of quinoa and spinach (these come in frozen bags and can be cooked in the microwave). We tend to cook one of the meats and freeze the rest, and then we always have rotating meat options in the freezer!

Organic Produce:

blueberries, seedless grapes, apples, pre-cut squash, and spinach. We are a fruit-snacking family. And we rarely leave Costco without a week’s worth of fresh fruit.

Take & Bake Meals:

KS rotisserie chicken, chicken pot-pie, and pizza. I never leave Costco without at least one take and bake item. Because let’s be honest, cooking doesn’t happen some/a lot of the time. We almost always walk out with a rotisserie chicken (this is just a take, not a bake) – our family routine is to Costco Wipeseat it hot that evening and use the rest for salads or casseroles the rest of the week. And their pop-in-the-oven meals are the perfect option for bringing to a friend in need, or when it’s time for Friday night pizza. Absolutely delicious!

Diapers and Wipes:

(monthly purchase – wipes are quarterly purchase). I have several mom friends who are nervous to switch from “name brand” diapers. I decided to try the KS diapers and wipes about a year ago – and haven’t looked back since. And the wipes are so smooth and durable and last for what feels like forever. Double win in my book!

Paper Towels:

(quarterly purchase): I am what some may call a paper towel snob. It has to be durable, select-a-size, and come in massive quantities. The KS paper towels fit the bill and last for 3-6 months!

Now come experience it for yourself (or get out of the house for breakfast, shopping, giveaways, and socializing) at Costco Mom Hour!
