The Hour Wichita Moms Took Over Costco {+ Top 6 Items in Our Shopping Carts}

Costco Mom Hour

Last Friday, over 80 Costco Warehouses across the nation opened one hour early for City Moms Blog Network Sister Sites at Costco Mom Hour, bringing over 12,000 moms together to have run of the store before it opened to the general public (and before nap and meltdown time).

Now that is what mom dreams are made of.

Costco 2

And WMB readers really wanted to show the Costco love because we saw nearly 600 moms (and some dads and grandparents too) come through those doors for #CostoMomHour!

There isn’t enough coffee and hugs to go around to say THANK YOU! We were blown away by how many came out for the event, and we were so appreciative for Costco’s fantastic staff for managing a crowd that large and not only feeding hungry moms (and their kiddos) with breakfast, but also spoiling us with swag bags filled with Kirkland goodies!

And just about everyone who came through the Costco doors made a pit stop for a photo op at the Costco Bears, stocked up on dark chocolate Bark Thins, and/or walked away with a steal of a deal on Hunter rain boots!

As someone who had never stepped foot inside a Costco, I immediately saw why so many parents drink the Costco Kool-Aid. Not only was it full of every household product I could ever possibly need (and quite a few that I don’t need, but suddenly felt like I did), but the prices were great, the staff was on point with their customer service (one staff member even walked me around to find every single thing I needed on my grocery list…because Costco is HUGE), and there are so many healthy and organic options to choose from!

So, I had no choice but to leave with a membership.

Now I get why so many moms rave about Costco.

Because they just “get” us.

And I know this because I saw the same items on repeat in shopping carts at checkout.

Top 6 Items in Our Costco Shopping Carts :

Diapers and Wipes : quality AND quantity which is perfect for little bums and busy moms (who don’t want to get out every few days for diapers)!

Holiday Items : Christmas lights, gingerbread houses (one of our team members price shopped on Amazon and said Costco was cheaper) and wreaths galore.

Kid Snacks : Go-Go Applesauce, Kirkland granola bars, no sugar-added fruit snacks and Goldfish tubs the size of small children.

Baking Goods : Kirkland vanilla, large quantities of butter and chocolate chips galore!

Paper Goods : between paper towels and toilet paper, moms go through a lot of paper goods. Shopping carts were full of them!

Stuff to Make Mom Life Easier : We saw everything from the non-preservative/non-GMO $4.99 Rotisserie chickens, pre-made dinners (we hear Costo’s chicken pot pie is to die for), a LOT of packages of dark chocolate & pumpkin seed Bark Thins (the perfect pick-me-up to stuff in desks at work), and bundles of holiday stamps – perfect for those Christmas cards about to go out!

And even though our family is stocked for the next few weeks, we’ve already made a few trips back to Costco. Because, it’s like a mom’s playground.

So thank you to Costco for making me a believer. And thank you for hosting a fun morning where Wichita moms could see what you are all about!
