4th of July in Wichita :: Fireworks, Parades & More

Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays of the year. The barbecues, parades, elaborate fireworks – I just love it all. Are you ready for some red, white and blue? There are several celebrations and activities planned in and around Wichita. Browse through the list below and start marking your calendar for some holiday fun!


Celebrate America Concert and Fireworks with Vincent Ingala :: Bradley Fair, June 29th

Enjoy a summer concert from 7:30 -9:30 p.m., followed by a fireworks show over Bradley Fair lake.

Celebrate America :: Old Cowtown Museum, July 1st

Cowtown is throwing an old-fashioned Fourth of July party with vintage baseball, crowning of the King and Queen of Cowtown, carnival games, sack races, and more. Regular admission applies, and the hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

One Nation Under God Patriotic Celebration :: Central Christian Church, July 2nd

In the worship center, Central Christian Church will have it’s 25th anniversary celebration and pay tribute to the men and women who have served our country. Enjoy a free dilly bar after the program.

Red, White, and Boom :: Downtown Wichita, July 4th

Wichita Parks Foundation an amazing block party in downtown Wichita. The event is complete with live music, food, a beer garden and a fireworks display. The party starts at 6:00 p.m, the concert at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at 9:45 pm.

Wingnuts Baseball :: Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, July 4th

The Wingnuts will take on the Winnipeg Goldeyes at 6:05 p.m., with a post-game fireworks to celebrate. The event requires the purchase of a Wingnuts game ticket.


Augusta Fireworks Display :: Augusta City Lake, July 3rd

A fireworks display is planned for dusk at Augusta City Lake.

Augusta Community Parade :: Downtown Augusta, July 4th

A children’s parade will be held the morning of July 4th in downtown Augusta.


Independence Day Celebration :: High Park, July 4th

The city of Derby has events planned around the clock for Independence Day, starting with the 36th Annual Derby Firecracker Race at 7:30 a.m. The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. and the Party in the Park at Madison Avenue Central Park at 4:00 p.m. The firework celebration at High Park will begin at 7:00 p.m with food trunks, games and fireworks starting at approximately 9:30 p.m.

El Dorado

Fourth of July Celebration :: East Park, July 4th

El Dorado has an entire day of festivities planned, starting with a wiffle ball tournament at 9 a.m. Other highlights include a bike parade, turtle race, swimming, and a Broncos baseball game at McDonald Stadium followed by a fireworks display. All events are FREE.


Independence Day Celebration :: Discovery Intermediate School, July 1st

Festivities in Goddard include free hot dogs, watermelon, ice cream and water, while supplies last. Bring your own equipment for a game of softball or enjoy the bounce house. Activities take places between 6 and 10 pm. After the fireworks there will be a free pool party at the Goddard pool.


July Fourth Celebration :: July 4th

Haysville has a day of activities planned to celebrate. Starting with an Independence Day parade at 8:30 a.m. Other activities include a kids fishing derby, frog races, raft races, a stars and stripes obstacle course, concert and fireworks. The Groove 42 concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Riggs Park and the fireworks at approximately 9:45 p.m. Most activities are free of charge.


5K Race :: Centennial Park, July 4th

Grab your running shoes and participate in the second annual Headin for Home 5K.

Fireworks Extravaganza :: Kidron Bethel Village, July 4th

This free event will include a bake sale, homemade ice cream, a quilt auction, and fireworks. The event begins at 8 p.m., with fireworks starting at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs with you.

Park City

Salute to Freedom :: Hap McLean Park, July 4th

Enjoy a parade, pet show, car show, inflatables, live music and more at this all-day event. The party starts with the parade at 9 a.m., and ends with fireworks at 10 p.m. All events are free.

Valley Center

Elderslie Farm 4th of July :: Elderslie Farm, July 4th

Head out to the farm to start your Fourth of July with breakfast in the cafe, little lion ice cream, live music, lawn games and berry picking. Breakfast and activities are from 7 – 11 am.


Baseball and Fireworks ::  July 3rd

The festivities start with the Heat baseball game at 7:30 p.m. with fireworks to follow. Events are free.
