Events in Wichita March 2016Happy spring! This month is jam packed with some great events. We have you covered as we round up family-friendly and Spring Break activities. March 3-6: It’s here! Disney on Ice Treasure Trove is at Intrust Arena. This magical event includes many of your favorite Disney characters and stories. This is an event the whole family will rave about!

March 4-6: Music Theatre for Young People presents The Pirates of Penzance at the Century II – Mary Jane Teall Theater.

March 5: Dance Magic 2016 features a variety of dances hosted by Amira Dance Productions, the longest, continuous running community dance studio in Wichita. This year’s performance centers on the theme of “A Journey though the Lands of Silk and Spice.”

March 5: The Wichita Center for the Arts will host craft time for kids at Whole Foods. This event is free but space is limited.

March 6, 13 & 20: Spend the afternoon painting with your family at Paint the Towne. Each class features a different painting, so check be sure to check the website. For children age 5 and older.

March 8: Each month Botanica hosts Garden Sprouts for preschool aged children (3-5) to explore the Children’s Garden and learn about the natural world. March’s theme, Woodland Critters, includes literature, games, eco-art and a snack.

March 11: Create a mini masterpiece at the family workshop through MonArt School of Art. The theme, Rainbow with a Pot of Gold, is just in time for St. Patrick’s Day!

March 12: Grab your green and head to the 10th Annual St Patrick’s Day Parade in Delano.

March 12: Complete a Japanese Flying Fish Windsock project at City Arts. Their Adult & Me program is free and offered the second Saturday of each month. Adult and

March 12: Head to the Sedgwick County Zoo and watch the sheep get sheared in preparation for winter. Held in the American Barn, staff will also be on hand discussing how wool is turned into clothing and more!

March 14: Send the kids to cooking class with The Hungry Family. This month they will learn the step-by-step on how to make delicious fresh pasta and homemade sauce. Best suited for kids ages 10-15.

March 16: The 2016 NCAA Basketball tournament (AKA: March Madness) begins. Go Shockers!

March 19: Watch the ICT Roller Girls in action at the Cotillion. The ICT Roller Girls is Wichita’s first all-female flat track roller derby league.

March 19: Need a little help in the kitchen? Attend the Little Chef’s Academy at Chick-fil-A at Central & Rock.

March 23: Talk a walk through Chisholm Creek Park under a full moon led by the staff at Great Plains Nature Center. This hike is perfect for older kids to explore nature and nocturnal life!

March 26: Spend the day at Botanica Wichita building fairy houses, listening to performers, story time among 60,000 tulips. Tulips, Fairies and Forts will be held every Saturday through April 16.

March 26: The Wichita Art Museum’s monthly Family ArtVenture is their second annual disco party. Shake, shake, shake at this family friendly dance party.
