Quick Fix For That Mess on Your Kitchen Floor

Ahh…the constant clean up when you live with a toddler. I feel like I clean the kitchen 12 times a day and am picking up toys the rest of the time. And then there’s the kitchen floor. I know it could use a good cleaning about every other day…but who has time for that?!?

Now I have to admit, I wasn’t that great about cleaning the kitchen floor before having kids. That’s why five years ago I came up with the floor towel and haven’t looked back! I think I should have patented it, honestly!!!Floor Towel Featured 2

Here’s the gist. I keep a towel on the floor at all times, usually tucked in a spot between my fridge and cabinet. Then when someone spills, I simply drag the towel with my foot and clean up the mess. This helps me avoid constantly bending to clean up after a toddler or myself, I spill a lot of water! And when I do spill water, I use it as a quick way to give that area of the floor a bit of a wash. It’s nothing like getting out the mop or steam cleaner, but when messes are constant and cleaning is the last thing you feel like doing, it’s a quick fix.

Plus it’s way easier to toss the floor towel in the wash and get a new one, then it is to break out the mop and bucket.

My mother is probably mortified by reading this right now!

What’s funny is when new friends come over or out of towners are visiting, the floor towel always ends up on my counter. People think I accidentally dropped it. When I explain, they often think I’m a bit crazy. But really I think it’s quite brilliant!!

Do you have any cleaning tips to help make your life easier?
