A chill is in the air and the holiday season is in full-effect. If you are looking for something to do with your family, or something to do with your girlfriends, we’ve got you covered!

Nov 2: Celebrate the Day of the Dead with a festival at Botanica.
Nov 3-4: The Classical School of Wichita is performing The Wizard of Oz.
Nov 3: Grab the girls and head to Tanganyika for Painting at the Park.
Nov 4: Find the Wine at stations set up inside the Walter’s Pumpkin Patch corn maze.
Nov 4: Everyone likes pizza! Check out the ICT Pizza Fest at Wichita Area Technical College.
Nov 4: Yet another Day of the Dead celebration for the family to enjoy.
Nov 4: Sign up for your elementary student to Try Hockey for Free.
Nov 8: If you haven’t attended a Fearless & Female self-defense workshop, don’t miss this one!
Nov 9: Bring a bottle of wine and your creativity to Mark Arts for a kitchen sign workshop.
Nov 11-12: The sci-fi and fantasy fans have been looking forward to Air Capital Comic Con.
Nov 11: The little ones will go crazy for Toddler Time Troll Roll.
Nov 11: The family will enjoy a trip to the stars through classical music, presented by the Wichita Symphony.

Nov 15: The Central Library is hosting a Preschool Pajama Party with a story, crafts and snacks.

Nov 21: Come explore what home means to you with your preschoolers at the Wichita Art Museum.
Nov 23: Earn your turkey and pie by starting the day with the Say Grace 5k.

Nov 29: The Great Plains Nature Center will have Critter Tales with stories and fun for the littles.

Neighborhood Group Meet-Ups

Wichita Neighborhood Mom Groups are having all kids of activities in your neighborhood and connecting online to share recommendations and advice. Click here to join your Neighborhood Group, and see below for what’s going on near you this month.

Derby/South Wichita Group and East Wichita/Andover Group are planning a joint moms night out at the movies! Join the groups to learn more.
North Wichita/Bel Aire Group: Jump with the kids at Aviate on November 15, or come to a Moms’ Night Out on November 17.
Central Wichita/Downtown Group: Craft and snacktime with the kids at Chik-fil-a on November 17.

Regularly Scheduled Programming:

Many local places have recurring events that are great for moms and families, and you can find them here: 

  • Aviate has Junior Jump Monday through Friday for the younger crowd.
  • Botanica has a Sunny Days Storytime every Thursday morning. 
  • Sensory Friendly play at Exploration Place on the second Sunday of every month
  • Urban Air has Jumparoo Toddler Jump every Tuesday and Friday.
  • Family Night at Museum of World Treasures is the first Thursday of the month.
  • Make ICT has free access to their makerspace every other Monday.
  • Celebrate Science Friday at Blue Baboon Books with a craft and non-fiction story. 
  • Kansas Children’s Service League has a support group for Parents of Special Needs Children on the third Monday of every month. 
  • Moxi Junction hosts story and craft time every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:30am.
  • Local libraries have story times most every day: check out our Guide to Wichita Story Times.

Meaghan Koci
Meaghan wears many hats throughout the day: wife to husband of fifteen years, Jeremy, mom to two incredible children, Jacob and Aliza, legal assistant, foster parent, and surrogate. A Wichita native, she met her husband at K-State (Go State!) and they moved from coast (Los Angeles, CA) to coast (Manchester, NH and Groton, CT) before settling back down in Kansas. She is a big fan of her crock pots, has read more than a novel a day for the last five years, and crochets in her “spare” time.
