Before you know it, Spring will be here! And that means rain and baseball (hopefully not on the same day!). With kids in our family currently ranging from t-ball age to high school JV age, I consider myself something of a veteran baseball mom. For those parents wondering where to start, I’ve put together a little summary of Wichita options to help kick-start your search! I’ve broken them up into three levels based on the level of competition, with recreational leagues being the least competitive and club teams generally being the most competitive.
T-Ball
- Recreational
- Local recreational leagues — too many to list! If your child is just starting out, I would suggest contacting your local recreational center. Nearly all rec centers offer some type of baseball and this is a great place for your child to learn the fundamentals.
- YMCA (includes a Micro T-Ball option)
- City of Wichita Co-Ed T-Ball
- League 42 (Ages 5-6) – Primarily an inner-city league.
- Park City Youth Baseball/Softball
- Competitive
- Club Teams

- City of Wichita League (Ages 12U-18U) – Another great transitional option. You can sign up individually and be assigned to a team based on your location, or sign up with an established team.
