Clearwater

Christmas Comes to Clearwater

  • December 7th hosted by Clearwater Chamber of Commerce
  • Come out for a great evening of kids’ activities and crafts, cider, chili, train and hay rack rides, and of course, Santa, arriving by fire truck.  The event is free and open to the public.

 

Towanda

A Country Christmas Holiday Lights & More

  • November 29th-December 22 Friday, Saturday, Sundays from 6-9 p.m.

  • Fulton Valley Farms Country Christmas is a wonderful place to take your family for Holiday fun. With lights, music, horse drawn sleigh rides, Santa and his Reindeer it is sure to be a magical event. General Admission Tickets are $5 per person (kids age 3 and under are free).

Christmas in the Park

  • December 14, 8 a.m. to 8p.m.
  • Madison Avenue Central Park, 512 E. Madison Ave.
  • Christmas in the Park a new event that combines Breakfast with Santa, Santa’s Village and carriage rides, will be held on one day at one location. The event will include breakfast, pictures with Santa, a petting zoo with reindeer, holiday-themed inflatable’s, carolers, Christmas crafts and stories, toy train displays, ginger bread house decorating contest and Clydesdale drawn carriage rides throughout the park. Christmas Parade: Polar Express

  • December 7, 6 p.m.
  • Join the Derby VFW and Chamber of Commerce for the annual Christmas Parade. The parade begins at Derby Middle School, proceeds west on Madison to Georgie, south to Market and east on Market back to Woodlawn.

Wichita

Downtown Wichita First Friday

First Friday happens the first Friday of each month.  Art galleries, museums, restaurants and retail shops around Wichita stay open late and welcome visitors. Recognizing that Downtown is the artistic and cultural center for the region, the Q-Line trolley service transports art lovers to the concentration of venues in Downtown. The ride is free and allows attendees to park once and visit several galleries.

Exploration Place:  Gingerbread Village

  • November 9 & Sunday, Nov. 10
  • Make and take home your own gingerbread house. Plus, enjoy holiday tunes by The Noteables and Smorgaschords quartet from Butler Community College, and much more.

Wichita Public Library:  Winter Carnival

  • December 20, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Rockwell Branch
  • Enjoy holiday activities at this free event geared towards children 12 and under. Visit with Santa, play games, enjoy live entertainment, and so much more.

Wichita Park & Recreation:  A Night with Santa

  • December 5, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center
  • Experience a winter wonderland of stories, games and prizes at this winter carnival.

Wichita Art Museum:  Friends of the Wichita Art Museum Holiday Open House

  • December 8, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Warm up with holiday refreshments, entertainment, artmaking, Christmas storytelling, and a visit with Santa Claus. Don’t miss this heartwarming event for young and old, creating memories you will cherish throughout the holiday season and beyond. Museum admission is free all day.

Old Cowtown Museum:  Victorian Christmas

  • December 6, 7, 13 & 14, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • When the weather outside is frightful, Cowtown’s lamp-lit, carol-filled streets will warm you up! There’s something magical about bundling up, stepping into the cold, and enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate with family and friends. Take a wagon ride, see what’s cooking at the farm, and enjoy a Victorian town ready for Christmas.
  • Regular admission prices apply. $9/adults, $8/seniors (ages 62+), $7/youth (ages 12-17), $6/kids (ages 5-11), kids 4 and under FREE! Cowtown Members get in FREE!

Samantha Jacob
Samantha is a Kansas girl through and through. Born and raised in a rural community near Topeka, KS, she moved to Wichita in 2002 to attend WSU. Obtaining her graduate degree from the Wichita State School of Social Work, she loves her job as a pediatric medical social worker. Samantha calls East Wichita home with her husband, two beautiful children, and dog. Having lived in Wichita for over a decade she has enjoyed rediscovering Wichita through the eyes of her children. When time allows Samantha enjoys spending time with friends, trying new restaurants, and re-watching episodes of the West Wing.

    • Thanks, Savanna! We’ve actually seen both dates publicized on social media! But we double-checked with the city, and you’re right, the actual date is the 16th!
