The holidays are so magical! And really, is there anything more festive than bundling up the family and heading out to a Christmas tree lighting? There are several around the Wichita area this winter – find one to make a tradition!
November 16th, 6 PM
Madison Avenue Central Park, 512 E Madison Ave., Derby
Join Mayor Randy White as he kicks off the holiday season and lights the city tree at Madison Avenue Central Park. View the tree on the event lawn between The Venue and The Pavilion. Enjoy free photos with Santa in The Pavilion, arts and crafts in The Venue and kettle corn, cookies and holiday music on the event lawn. Food trucks will be on site as well. In case of inclement weather, activities will be moved indoors. Donations for Operation Holiday will be collected at this event.
November 18th, 5:30 PM
Bradley Fair Plaza (by the fountain)
No cost, open to the public, and benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita – Santa and his reindeer will be available for photos and free horse drawn carriage rides will start immediately following the tree lighting.
December 2nd at 4pm
Main Street in El Dorado
No cost and open to the public. Parade starts at 6 PM and tree lighting is at 6:40 in downtown square. After the parade, follow Candy Cane Lane to the Oil Museum (383 E Central Ave) for pictures with Santa and a chance to feed his reindeer.
Mayor’s Tree Lighting
The large tree at Century II is being moved into a winter wonderland space in Old Town Square this year! No cost and open to the public.
December 14th, 5:30 PM
Andover Central Park
No cost and open to the public, but attendees are asked to donate a non-perishable food item. Santa will arrive on a fire truck to light the tree at 5:30 and will then be available for pictures at City Hall.
Early December (Date not yet determined)
Come celebrate with the City of Goddard as they light up the City Christmas Tree!
