Coffee. What can I say about you that has not already been said millions of times by millions of moms? We love you, we need you. But sometimes we cannot find you! For a while I used the Starbucks app on my phone to locate the nearest caffeine supplier, but after getting burned {figuratively} a few times by mega-chain coffee, I began opting for locally-owned shops, which are not always easy to find when you’re in a car full of kids with spotty internet service! Serving coffee, tea, smoothies, cookies and more – this coffee shop in Maize {a northwest suburb of Wichita} is totally kid-friendly. Its birth story will yank on any mama’s heartstrings – and knowing the history of the amazing people who work there makes a visit all the more fun! They have story time every Tuesday morning at 10:30, and often  have live music. If you’re shopping in New Market Square, head north for 4 miles on Maize Road, and give them a try!

Twisted Java Coffee Bar – 2615 N. 13th St {just west of Riverside}

The west side’s newest coffee shop is located near the Riverside area – super close to the zoo if you need a little boost to keep up with the kids! In addition to coffee & tea, they also serve up cool treats like frappes and slushies, perfect for hot Kansas summers! They have a drive-through and offer muffins, cookies, and cinnamon rolls in addition to beverages – if your tummy requires more than a great beverage.

Paradise Donuts & Coffeehouse – 10607 W. Maple St.

Another locally owned & operated gem, Paradise Donuts is just West of the intersection of Maple and Maize. They serve coffee, espresso, and tons of donuts & donut holes!
